Jasa Marga 14.5% EBITDA Growth, A Positive Performance Indicator

Jakarta (04/24) -  PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk. achieved Rp1.81-trillion EBITDA and 71.8% EBITDA margin in the first Quarter of 2019.  These figures were 14.5% (Rp229.58 Billion) and 66,30% higher than the same quarter of last year, respectively.

Exclusive of construction business, Jasa Marga has earned a Rp2.52-trillion revenue in which the toll road has contributed Rp2.34 trillion.  These figures were 6.3% and 5.7% higher than the previous year, respectively. Meanwhile, the Subsidiaries contributed 16.11%, higher by 4.78% compared to last year, 11.33%.

New toll road operations and Trans Java Toll Road network connectivity have positively impact this growth. On the other hand, Jasa Marga other business revenues had contributed Rp179.6 billion.

Amidst prospective operational toll roads and their massive construction fund demands, however, Jasa Marga has managed to mantain a stable net profit of Rp584.8 billion.

To secure its financial condition and to strengthen its capital structure, Jasa Marga has launched an equity-based innovative alternative funding, Collective Investment Contract-Infrastructure Investment Funds (KIK-DINFRA), which was first registered and exchanged in Indonesia Stock Exchange; an evidence of Jasa Marga's maintained positive performance.

Jasa Marga has operated the 9.26-km Medan-Kualanamu Tebing Tinggi Toll Road Segment 7 (Sei Rampah – Tebing Tinggi), a part of Aceh-to-Lampung Trans Sumatera Toll Road, which enables transportations and logistics between Medan, Kualanamu International Airport, Sei Mangkei Special Economic Zone, and Lake Toba Tourist Destination.

The simulation of Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID)-based transaction or known as Single Lane Free Flow (SLFF), which was witnessed by State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) Minister Rini M. Soemarno, demonstrated Jasa Marga's commitment to keep innovating in various aspects to improve services and generate better facilities.  The simulation was held at Cengkareng and Kapuk Toll Gates of Soedyatmo Toll Segment in March 2019.  The technology, known as FLO, is based on a non-stop transaction system.  It was produced by one of Jasa Marga's Subsidiary, PT Jasa Marga Tollroad Operator (JMTO). The system is a technological transition from Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) to a Multi Lane Free Flow (MLFF) system.

Jasa Marga is expected to be able to operate ± 245-km new toll roads spread across Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan and Sulawesi.  In Greater Jakarta and Java Island, Jasa Marga targets to operate the 14.20-km Cengkareng-Kunciran, 11.20-km Kunciran-Serpong, 10.14-km Serpong-Cinere, 36.40-km Jakarta-Cikampek II Elevated, 38.49-km Pandaan-Malang and 1.60-km Gempol-Pandaan Toll Roads.

Sumatra, Kalimantan and Sulawesi Islands, on the other hand, will have Jasa Marga's operational 9.26-km Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi Toll Road Segment 7 Sei Rampah-Tebing Tinggi, which has been operational since March 2019, and 98.89-km Balikpapan-Samarinda Toll Roads as well as three Manado-Bitung Toll Segments - the 7.00-km Manado-Sukur Segment 1A, the 7.00-km Sukur-Airmadidi Segment 1B  and the 11.50-km Airmadidi-Danowudu Segment 2A.
