Starting Today, Sei Rampah-Tebing Tinggi Toll Road Operates without Charge
Medan (03/25) - Starting at midnight, on Monday, March 25, 2019, the last segment of Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi Toll Road (Sei Rampah-Tebing Tinggi), Segment 7, operates without charge (Rp. 0.-).
The non-tariff policy applies along the 9.26-km Sei Rampah to Tebing Tinggi Toll Segment. Travelers from Medan who take the exit at Tebing Tinggi Toll Gate will pay the charge from their origin to Sei Rampah Toll Gate. This also applies the other way round, vehicles entering at Tebing Tinggi Toll Gate and taking their exit at Medan Regional Toll Gate only pay the charge from Sei Rampah Toll Gate.
The non-tariff is an optimal public promotion and the tariff itself will apply by Sunday midnight, April 21, 2019 in accordance with the Ministerial Decree of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Number 257/KPTS/M/2019.
The 9.26-km Sei Rampah-Tebing Tinggi Toll Road Segment 7 had been completed in December 2018 and had been functional for the 2018 Christmas and Year-end Holiday homebound and post-homebound travelers based on the PUPR Ministerial Decree Number 256 /KPTS/M/2019.
PT Jasamarga Kualanamu Tol (JMKT), the manager of Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi Toll Road, also circulated the information through social media, leaflets, banners and Variable Message Signs (VMS). Travelers are advised to ensure the sufficiency of their elecronic-money balance before approaching the toll gate to avoid long vehicle queues.
Segment 7 has complemented the 61.7-km Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi Toll Road. Anyone who accesses this toll road will enjoy a time-saving route between Medan and Tebing Tinggi, which previously took 2-3 hours through the existing pathway and now travelers can enjoy a one-hour travel. The toll road will also ease transportations and logistics distribution between Medan, Kualanamu International Airport, Sei Mangkei Special Economic Zone and the Toba Lake Tourist Destination.
