Pasuruan (26/07), PT Jasamarga Gempol Pasuruan (JGP) as the manager of the Gempol-Pasuruan Toll Road has already distributed 1,000 food packages to community, notably encompassing the Gempol-Pasuruan Toll Road corridor. It was conducted due to alleviated the burden of the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. The charity is part of community development program called Kawan GP peduli which has the target such as the transportation community in toll road corridors which are economically influenced by COVID-19.
President Director of PT JGP Widiyatmiko Nursejati revealed that this action become part of the Company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. "This agenda is the same as last year, we have been trying frequently to implement the benefits towards the community around toll roads, chiefly to support and mitigate their difficulties in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic," said Widiyatmiko.
The food charity program was executed on 26 to 27 July 2021 at five location points over the Gempol-Pasuruan Toll Road. The five locations are Rejoso, Pohjentrek, Rembang, Beji, and Bangil districts. This program has already distributed 1,000 food packages consist of rice, sugar, cooking oil, wheat flour, and fish in cans.
The Assistant for Economics and Development of the Pasuruan Regency Government, HM Suharto, who are both present at the symbolic of food charity and appreciated the Kawan JGP Peduli CSR program which has been accomplished occasionally since 2020. "Hopefully this program be able to bestow the benefit toward the community, furthermore I also impulse all of us to apply the health protocols and healthy lifestyles regularly,’’ said Suharto.
Mufidah, one of the part from the community who received the food charity from Karangpandan Village and works as a street food seller has felt the misfortunate and getting heavier since the Covid-19 pandemic. “Many people in my village have lost their jobs. Through this food charity, we feel happy and grateful for PT JGP's attention and concern for community around the toll road," said Mufidah.
PT JGP cooperates with local village officials and institution continuing for prioritizing health protocols by means of the appliance of activities, namely organizing for maintaining distance, checking body temperature, providing hand washing and hand sanitizers and providing medical masks for community representatives and participants in attendance. As the results, it can be avoiding the spread of COVID-19,
